I'm glad you gave Glenys a hug, it sure seemed like she needed one. I hope one of her grandkids comes soon to paint her porch, and to pay her a nice visit.
This episode was really touching to me. It seemed like a really pure expression of what I think of as a bittersweet reality. We all aspire to have a relationship that's so long and successful, but because we're people there's a 50/50 shot that even in the best of all worlds we have to deal with the pain of long-time partner dying, with no tragedy or blame. Glenys' talk was pretty emotional for me, having found the person I'm taking my 50/50 shot with, imagining both the joy of being together for many years to come and the inevitable pain that one of us will face as the other leaves a little earlier.
